Sky's the limit for Quakers

12 Nov 2007

It will be the first time the two clubs, who were handed byes in the first round, have met since the 1996/97 season where Leeds prevailed 4 -2 on aggregate in the League cup.

Darlington manager Dave Penney is looking forward to the ‘plum tie’ “It is a plum tie although perhaps it would have been a bit more of a plum tie if we were going to Leeds. Still it will be a great game to look forward to.”

Last year Darlington reached the Northern semi-finals despatching Tranmere Rovers and Mansfield Town before bowing out to victors, Doncaster Rovers.

Johnstone’s sponsorship manager Teresa Hardwick said:” It should be a fantastic game to watch. Johnstone’s would like to welcome both teams to the competition and wish them well in their trophy adventures.

The winners from the evening will progress through to the area quarter finals, scheduled for week commencing 12th November 2007.
