Two young supporters dreams come true

Two Grimsby and two Milton Keynes youngsters are celebrating a dream come true after they were named as winners of a national competition to take part in a half time penalty shoot out at the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final on March 30th 2008.

Grimsby fans, Chloe Clarke (10) and Cameron James Tuck (9) will kick penalties against MK Dons mascot, Mooie or Donny. It will be the turn of MK Dons supporters, Wesley McGrath (12) and James Watson (9) to kick penalties against Grimsby Town mascot, the Mighty Mariner at Wembley Stadium.

Speaking of his excitement, Cameron Tuck from Cleethorpes in Lincolnshire said he couldn’t believe his luck when his mum told him about the phone call. He said: “When my Mom told me I had won I couldn’t stop running around, I’m so excited.”

James Watson of Old Stratford is just as excited. He said: “I can’t wait to get my MK Dons kit and get on that pitch– I will be proud to wear it!”

In preparation for the big penalty shoot out, all four winners will meet with the club mascots. Mooie and Donny will be at the Johnstone’s Leyland Decorating Centre based on Watling Street on Tuesday 25th March at 4pm and Wednesday 26th March will see the Mighty Mariner at the Johnstone’s Leyland Decorating Centre at Celtic Place, Athena Drive on Europa Park, also at 4pm.

Gina Laycock, Decorating Centre Marketing Manager for Johnstone's, said: “The uptake for this competition was overwhelming, it has been fantastic. I hope that they all enjoy their day at Wembley and they show the mascots what they are made of.”

The proud winners will receive football goodie bags including 4 tickets to the final, a personalised Grimsby / Milton Keynes football kit, a club football and a commemorative trophy.

Fans that come along to the Johnstone’s Leyland Decorating Centres on the afternoon of Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th March can also have their photo taken raising the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy. As an added bonus supporters could also pick up one of a limited number of car stickers uniquely made for the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final by the sponsor.
