Tune in for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy first round draw

The gripping first round draw of this season’s Johnstone's Paint Trophy will take place live on Soccer AM on Saturday, 16th August 2008. Sixteen lucky clubs have already been awarded byes in a pre-draw for the first round, with the remaining 32 League 1 and 2 clubs going into the hat for the televised draw.

For rounds one and two, the clubs are equally divided into Northern and Southern sections and then sub-divided again into North East and North West in the North and South East and South West sections in the South.

Die hard local fans will be guaranteed some thrilling action as the sub-divisions of the Northern and Southern sections are sure to throw together some intense local derbies throughout the season.

With clubs still making free tickets available to children under the age of 16 when accompanied by a paying adult and match results decided with intense penalty shoot-outs at the end of 90 minutes, this year’s competition is set to push attendances, club loyalty and the spectators nerves to the upper limits!

Fans of the trophy will be kept up to date with all the 2008/09 football season news with regular updates from Helen Chamberlain and the latest signing to the Saturday morning programme, Max Rushden, who will be her co-host on Soccer AM.

First round ties will take place w/c 1st September 08.
