The Mariners have struggled to find form in League Two this term but recorded an impressive 2-0 victory at Hartlepool in the last round of the competition thanks to goals from Peter Sweeney and Adam Proudlock - earning them the Team of the Round award. Fenty is hoping his side can pull off another shock when they visit Elland Road.
He said: “A tie at Leeds was on my wish-list and that’s what we got. It’s not exactly lucrative but it will be a big boost for us.
“We won at Hartlepool so there is no reason to assume this game isn’t winnable as well.”
Elsewhere in the Northern Section, Bradford face a home tie against fellow League Two side Port Vale while Accrington host Bury after they beat Shrewsbury 2-0 at the Crown Ground. The remaining tie sees Carlisle travel to Saltergate to take on Chesterfield.
Spireites boss John Sheridan is looking forward to the match and said: “Once again this is an attractive fixture against a League One side as we strive to get to the final at Wembley Stadium.”
In the Southern Section, there will be a local derby at stadium:mk after MK Dons were drawn at home to Northampton. The two clubs are separated by little more than 20 miles and will be relishing the prospect of going head-to-head.
Southampton host Charlton in what promises to be a mouth-watering clash at St Mary’s while Swindon face a tricky clash against in-form Norwich at the County Ground.
Hereford will take on Leyton Orient at Brisbane Road in the other quarter-final. All eight ties are set to take place in the week commencing November 9.
