Danny McAllister interviews Carlisle players

Life long fan to write some headlines with Johnstone's

A lifelong Carlisle United fan is helping to hold the back page for the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy, after beating scores of supporters to become an official Johnstone’s Journalist for the day. Danny McAllister took his notepad and pen to Brunton Park to interview manager Greg Abbott and his players ahead of his side’s trip to Wembley on Sunday. He will then file copy for the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy as the headlines begin to build ahead of the big final against Southampton.

Danny’s poignant description of being a lifelong Carlisle United fan captured the imagination of a Johnstone’s judging panel, and he will also win tickets for the final as an added bonus.

Danny said: “It has been great to meet some of my heroes. It is brilliant to have won and I loved every minute.

“It was nice to wish them all the best for the final as well, because the whole of Carlisle will be rooting for them come Sunday.”

Johnstone’s Paint Trophy’ sponsorship manager Teresa Hardwick said: “We are delighted for Danny, who really impressed us with his entry to our Johnstone’s Journalist competition.

“We have never offered an opportunity like this for supporters before and it has been great to see so many entries and to feel their passion for their club.

“To offer an opportunity like this would not have been possible without the co-operation of Carlisle United either, so we really want to thank the club for their assistance on this competition, and every other initiative that we have run in the build-up to the final.

“The club has been a joy to work with and we wish them well for the final.”

Johnstone’s. Bringing colour to the beautiful game.
