Pitman wins Johnstone's ultimate finish award

AFC Bournemouth star Brett Pitman will be making extra room on his mantle piece after scooping the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy’s first ever UItimate Finish award.

Pitman’s fabulous goal for the Cherries against Yeovil in the first round of the trophy has been nominated as the goal of the round, with hundreds of supporters voting for the strike.

Kevin Legge of Poole was picked at random to win and will present Brett with his award ahead of Bournemouth’s home game with Rochdale on October 31. He will also win an iPod nano.

Supporters were asked to view video footage displayed on the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy’s website, and Brett’s emphatic finish came out on top, with 29 per cent of fans voting it as their favourite.

Brett said: “I was pleased that my goal was recognised by Johnstone’s and even happier that it was the most popular strike of the round.

“This trophy is a great memento for me to keep and I hope it will spur me on to greater things during the course of the season.”

Winning supporter Kevin said: “It is fantastic to be picked as the winning fan for the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy’s Ultimate Finish award. I am thrilled to be winning a prize for entering, and even more excited about the prospect of meeting Brett to present him with his award.”

Following each round, fans are asked to vote for their Ultimate Finish award, with one supporter winning an iPod nano each time.

After the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final, fans and customers will then have the opportunity to vote for the ‘Best 3 Goals of the Season.’ The winning goalscorers will be presented with a “Johnstone’s Paint Ultimate Finish of the Season Award” and one lucky entrant will win a fantastic Sony Playstation 3 console with latest Fifa game.

To enter log on from 23rd October and vote for your top goal from the round two games played on 6th October 2009.

Key dates for online voting along with the terms and conditions of entry can be found on the website at the point of entry.

Alternatively, call into your nearest Johnstone’s / Leyland decorating centre and pick a postcard outlining the key dates and competition details.

Johnstone’s Paint Trophy sponsorship manager Teresa Hardwick said: “We hope that our Ultimate Finish awards generate a huge following and will allow fans to have their say about the best finish of the round!”
