Young Southampton fan celebrates Saints glory with winning boot design
A creative young Southampton fan can continue to celebrate Saints’ Wembley success after his colourful art skills beat more than 200 entries to win the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy’s ‘Design a Boot’ competition.
June 2010
Johnstone’s Paints asked young Carlisle and Southampton fans to create some colour by getting stuck into some paints and crayons to celebrate last month’s clash between the league one clubs.
Rhys Kemish, aged 12 from Melksham, has won himself a pair of football boots thanks to his eye-catching footwear design, which captured the imagination of a Johnstone’s Paint Trophy judging panel.
Johnstone’s Paint Trophy sponsorship manager Teresa Hardwick said: “We saw an unbelievable response and would like to thank all those who entered the competition.
“The standard of designs was very high and it was a tough decision to make. We loved Rhys’ colourful design and were particularly impressed by his use of the Southampton club crest.”
