Johnstone's urge fans to paint a thousand words

The Johnstone’s Paint Trophy is urging fans to write their team’s passage all the way to Wembley, by becoming an official blogger ahead of the Area Quarter Finals.

October 2010

The trophy is asking young supporters to pen their own headlines for their clubs, courtesy of our successful Blog Squad campaign.

Johnstone’s is still on the look-out for budding sports journalists between the ages of 9 and 14 to write about their side’s performances in the trophy, in time for the area quarter finals on the week commencing November 8.

At present, there are still opportunities to blog for Rotherham United, Sheffield Wednesday, Plymouth Argyle, Southend United and Wycombe Wanderers.

Every one of the chosen ‘Blog Squad’ members will be given four free tickets for every home game that their team plays in.

And in a further incentive, if a blogger’s team makes it through to the final of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy, they will get the chance to attend exclusive trophy tours in their home towns, interview selected players, and win four hospitality tickets to the Wembley final on Sunday 3rd April 2011.

Following each match, the winners will be expected to email their blogs to display on the official Johnstone’s Paint Trophy site for all of their fellow fans to view.

The better their teams do, the more opportunities to get closer to their beloved clubs and secure themselves some top prizes and giveaways in the process.

Johnstone’s is now inviting all budding bloggers to email teresa.hardwick@ppg.com with a picture of themselves in their team colours, explaining why they would like to become part of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Blog Squad.

Johnstone’s Paint Trophy’s sponsorship manager Teresa Hardwick said: “With the area quarter finals looming, the time couldn’t be better for fans to get in touch with us and start writing their own headlines.

“We have been looking for a new perspective on the matches that are played throughout the competition, and we think that this is the perfect way of achieving it.

“Supporters’ opinions are always the ones that matter most to us, so it will be great to work closely with so many young fans and get a different slant on their teams as they progress through the competition.”

Johnstone’s. Bringing colour to the beautiful game.
