Trend setting youngsters are being called upon to add a splash of fashion to the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy’s final preparations, courtesy of a project to design a new football shirt.
Young fans in the finalist areas are being asked to get creative and come up with some skillful sketches, which might inspire their local teams to flashes of inspiration at Wembley on April 3.
The pictures will be judged in two age categories 5-11 and 12-16 years with the winning designer’s being awarded personalized replica shirts.
Ten runners-up will also receive an official Johnstone’s Paint Trophy football, which is an exact replica of the bespoke matchball used in the final at Wembley.
Johnstone’s Paint Trophy’s sponsorship manager Teresa Hardwick said: “We wanted to get the help of some youngsters to create some colour and vibrancy ahead of the final in April.
“The Johnstone’s Paint Trophy is all about bringing colour to the beautiful game, so we couldn’t think of a better project to launch ahead of our fifth Wembley final.
“As long as the designs are colourful and full of determination like our finalists, then that’s all we can ask for.
“We will be offering a personalized shirt for the winning designs and just hope that the children can help us out and put their street cred into the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.”
