Third ultimate finish too close to call

One was a flying right foot volley and the other a classy left foot strike from distance… And in a matter of days, a third Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Ultimate Finish winner will be unveiled – and it is guaranteed to be another one to remember.

November 2010

As the eight remaining teams in the competition prepare for the area semi-finals, there is just one important task to deal with before the action commences – revealing the scorer of the best goal from the area quarter-finals.

Swindon Town’s Vincent Pericard won the first award back in September, while Craig Noone (Plymouth Argyle) scooped the accolade last month.

Ben Swallow (Bristol Rovers), Jordan Rhodes (Huddersfield Town), Therry Racon (Charlton Athletic), Ryan Harley (Exeter City) and Chris Clark (Plymouth Argyle) are all in with a chance of winning the third Ultimate Finish of the season.

And with voting about to close, the trophy is predicting the closest contest in the history of the award.

Johnstone’s Paint Trophy sponsorship manager Teresa Hardwick said: “The five goals really were superb strikes and it is nigh on impossible to choose one standout winner.

“However, the fans are the ones who decide so we are leaving it up to them and we can’t wait to announce the name of the player in the next day or two.”

The best goal will be announced on the website and all fans that vote for the same winning goal will be shortlisted into a prize draw. Each round, the winning goalscorer will be presented with a “Johnstone’s Paint Ultimate Finish Award” and one lucky entrant will win an iPod nano.

After the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final, all fans will then have the opportunity to vote for the ‘Ultimate Finish of the Season.’

The winning goalscorer will be presented with a “Johnstone’s Paint Ultimate Finish of the Season Award” and one lucky entrant will win a fantastic Sony Playstation 3 console with latest Fifa game.

Johnstone's. Bringing colour to the beautiful game.
