Three tremendous strikes in line for Ultimate Finish award
One long range screamer and two audacious lobs have been shortlisted to win the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy’s final Ultimate Finish award of the season.

Ben Marshall’s eye catching effort for Carlisle United against Sheffield Wednesday has now been joined by similarly classy goals from Jordan Rhodes (Huddersfield Town) and Will Hoskins (Bristol Rovers).
Rhodes has already been in this position before after his right foot curler against Rotherham in the previous round was also nominated, missing out by the narrowest of margins.
For Hoskins, the accolade will provide him with a more uplifting memory from this season’s competition after his side was cruelly eliminated on penalties to Exeter City.
Ben Marshall will fancy his chances of success however, thanks to his instinctive goal and hundreds of passionate Carlisle United fans who are always quick to vote for one of their own.
Johnstone’s Paint Trophy’s sponsorship manager Teresa Hardwick said: “We can rarely come to a unanimous conclusion when we try to pick our favourite goal, and the area semi finals are no different.
“Each shortlisted goal found the back of the net through vision, awareness and no shortage of skill, so we wish Ben, Jordan and Will the best of luck.”
Voting for the Area Semi Final Ultimate Finish will open on Friday 17th December and closes on Monday 10th January.
The best goal will be announced on the website and all fans that vote for the same winning goal will be shortlisted into a prize draw. Each round, the winning goalscorer will be presented with a “Johnstone’s Paint Ultimate Finish Award” and one lucky entrant will win an iPod nano.
After the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final, all fans will then have the opportunity to vote for the ‘Ultimate Finish of the Season.’
