Fans in control of Ultimate Finish fate
The action packed second round of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy has left fans with a selection headache, after ten glorious goals were shortlisted for the competition’s Ultimate Finish Award.
The action packed second round of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy has left fans with a selection headache, after ten glorious goals were shortlisted for the competition’s Ultimate Finish Award.
Fans are asked to view exclusive video footage displayed on the official Johnstone’s Paint Trophy website featuring each one of the impressive efforts, with the most popular goal winning.
The shortlisted players are:
GOAL A: Darryl Duffy, Wycombe v CHELTENHAM
GOAL B: Karl Hawley, NOTTS COUNTY v Chesterfield
GOAL C: Ryan Hall, Dag & Red v SOUTHEND
GOAL D: Ryan Hall, Dag & Red v SOUTHEND
GOAL E: Mark Marshall, Gillingham v BARNET
GOAL F: Daniel Nardiello, EXETER v Swindon
GOAL G: Mark Randall, Notts County v CHESTERFIELD
GOAL H: Mark Roberts, AFC Wimbledon v STEVENAGE
GOAL I: Deane Smalley, Aldershot v OXFORD UTD
GOAL J: Brian Smikle, Wycombe v CHELTENHAM
The best goal will be announced on the website after the closing date and all fans that vote for the same winning goal will be shortlisted into a prize draw. Each round, the winning goalscorer will be presented with a ‘Johnstone’s Paint Ultimate Finish Award’ and one lucky entrant will win an iPod Nano.
Voting closes on 31st October 2011.
And as an added incentive fans of the ultimate finish winner will be entitled to redeem a ‘Just Rewards’ voucher enabling them to collect a free goodie bag from any Johnstone’s or Johnstone’s Leyland Decorating Centre within a 20 mile radius of the winning player’s parent club.
The goodie bag containing official footballs and other memorabilia is available for all the the Ultimate Finish winner’s fans with any purchase of Johnstone’s, Leyland or Fat Hog products.
Johnstone’s Paint Trophy’s sponsorship manager Teresa Hardwick said: “The second round produced some absolutely fantastic goals, so it will be a challenging for fans to choose a favourite.
“No team or player needs encouragement to score goals, but by rewarding the best of them and their fans, we hope to add a little extra spice to events on the field.”
“Huddersfield Town’s Donal McDermott took the honours in round one for his 39th minute strike against Northampton Town.
He will be presented with his award this Saturday from lifelong Huddersfield fan Tony Charlton, who was picked at random as the winner and can look forward to receiving an iPod Nano.
