Johnstone's Paint Trophy heading to Chesterfield and Swindon
As excitement around Swindon Town and Chesterfield’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final appearances reach fever pitch, the competition has cranked up the atmosphere yet further by agreeing to visit the two towns ahead of their big day.
The prestigious piece of silverware will be making an appearance at the Co-Op department store in Elder Way, Chesterfield on Monday March 19 (2.30pm to 7pm) before visiting the Brunel Shopping Centre in Swindon on Thursday March 22 from 2pm to 5.30pm.
As well as photo opportunities with the trophy, Swindon Town followers will be able to show the competition their true colours by entering a ‘JPT Factor’ audition during the day.
Fans will be asked to sing, dance or just plead their allegiance to a Johnstone’s Paint Trophy cameraman who will be present on the day, with the most compelling causes winning tickets to the final.
To complete an action packed afternoon of entertainment, first team players from the two clubs will be visiting the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy stand to say hello to the fans.
Johnstone’s Paint Trophy sponsorship manager Teresa Hardwick said: “We can’t wait to bring the trophy to Chesterfield and Swindon and meet as many fans as possible.
“The last time we saw them all was during the area final games when they were all in fine voice.
“We want them to come along and get their pictures taken with the trophy, meet one or two of the players and even show us why they are such fanatics in front of our trophy cameraman.
“We always try to give as much back to the fans as possible, from the first round right through to the final.
“Our trophy tours represent just one activity from a season long schedule and we can’t wait to get back to Wiltshire again to show the fans exactly what they are playing for.”
