Managers making space for team of the round awards
Barnet and Accrington Stanley managers Laurie Sanchez and John Coleman have been making room on their sideboards for some impressive new pieces of silverware, courtesy of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.
October 2011
After both sides triumphed in spectacular style in the first round of the competition, their bosses were on hand to receive the trophy’s team of the round awards.
Barnet are already preparing for a trip to Cheltenham in the area quarter finals having since disposed of Gillingham.
Accrington’s award was well deserved after knocking out Carlisle United in round one.
Meanwhile, Accrington Stanley will play Tranmere Rovers tonight after their first clash was abandoned due to a worrying injury to defender Tom Bender, who is now thankfully on the mend.
Sponsorship manager Teresa Hardwick said: “Both sides have already shown a great deal of skill in the trophy.
“They were well worthy of their awards but in typical trophy fashion, time moves fast and they have both got big challenges ahead to progress further.
“We certainly wish them all the best!”
