Microbarr Aqua Gloss

Johnstone's helps fight bacteria with extended anti bacterial coatings range

As prevention is always better than cure, leading paint manufacturer Johnstone’s has added to its successful Microbarr Anti Bacterial coatings range with the new Aqua Water Based Gloss product.

July 2010

The Microbarr Aqua Water Based Gloss follows hot on the heels of the Microbarr Anti Bacterial Acrylic Matt and Acrylic Eggshell products, which have been formulated to help prevent the spread of harmful bacteria that can lead to the proliferation of ‘superbugs’ like MRSA and E. coli., In addition. Microbarr guarantees a tough, washable surface and further demonstrates that Johnstone’s is able to provide a hygienic solution for every interior surface.

Developed using proven silver ion technology that protects against over 150 strains of bacteria, the Microbarr coatings have been subjected to stringent Japanese industry tests (JIS Z 2801) with the results showing that 99.9 % of bacteria were eradicated within 18 hours where Microbarr was used on walls and other surfaces. The silver content in Microbarr cannot be removed through washing. When used as part of a regular and efficient cleaning system Microbarr offers effective and enduring protection from bacterial growth.

Johnstone’s Microbarr Aqua Water Based Gloss is available in a choice of 6,000 colours through the use of Johnstone’s innovative 32 colorant tinting machines and is recommended for use with Johnstone’s Aqua Undercoat, which can also be tinted to the exact same colour as the topcoat.

Its design flexibility makes it ideally suited to creating colour schemes that can aid recovery in the health sector and encourage learning in educational facilities as well as effectively matching existing corporate colour schemes. The range of colours available can also play a vital part when highlighting the critical surfaces to aid the manoeuvrability of partially sighted people around busy public buildings by choosing colours that have varying Light Reflective Values (LRVs).

Johnstone’s Microbarr Anti Bacterial Aqua Gloss gives excellent adhesion over suitably prepared wood, metal, wall and ceilings and is ideally suited for use in hospital wards, doctors’ surgeries, veterinary hospitals, abattoirs, schools and retirement homes.
