Johnstone's Paint Trophy says: 'The future's bright!'
The Johnstone’s Paint Trophy has declared that the future of the national game is bright, after identifying a number of talented young players who will star in the competition this season. In a new online feature, The Johnstone’s Paint Trophy is able to offer a promising prognosis for the game, having unearthed some young and hungry professionals who have been tipped for great things.

As Johnstone’s looks forward to its fifth season of football sponsorship, it has taking an active role in the game and believes there are some compelling reasons to be optimistic about the future.
For the first time, the trophy has created a ‘Colourful Generation’ section for emerging prospects, who will be unearthed and showcased here on the official website from August onwards.
Each fortnight, the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy will herald a promising player of tomorrow and will award his parent club with a donation of vouchers to spend at one of its 185 Johnstone’s decorating centres nationwide.
Johnstone’s Paint Trophy sponsorship manager Teresa Hardwick said: “We have seen a great deal of young talent in the competition over the years, many of whom have gone on to great things in the game.
“Clubs in the trophy are producing some exciting, emerging talent and we are delighted to be able to recognise this in our new feature. Their names will be up in lights on our official website and we are sure that they will enjoy more plaudits as their careers take flight.
“Being sponsors of the Football League Trophy for the past four years has given us an insight into the health of the professional game in the lower leagues, and we have long been impressed with what we have seen.”
The trophy is proud to see so many young players gaining valuable experience by competing in the competition.
Teresa added: “Because a great deal of talent has been nurtured through participation in our competitive fixtures, we thought it was a necessity to work with clubs in Leagues 1 & 2 and highlight some future prospects.
“While we don’t expect them all to go on to gain full honours for their country, we want to emphasise that there is some exceptional talent that has been developed through the care and expertise of their parent clubs.”
The first inductee into the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy’s ‘Colourful Generation’ section will take place in August.
